WRITTEN WALKTHROUGH
Complete the workflow step by step.
Select the route type
Choose Draw Cable / Conduit and select Cat6, fiber, speaker cable, alarm wire, power, conduit or the appropriate custom pathway.
Start at the source device
Select the origin such as a camera, access point, speaker or reader, then begin the route at its connection point.
Create organized segments
Add intermediate corners along walls, corridors, trays or conduit paths instead of drawing an unrealistic direct diagonal line.
Finish at the destination
End the route at the NVR, PoE switch, control panel, rack, amplifier or other destination device.
Adjust thickness and verify length
Change line thickness for visibility, review the calculated footage and add a reasonable field-service allowance when estimating material.
COMPLETION CHECK
Confirm the result before moving on.
- Route begins and ends on the intended devices
- Corners follow a practical pathway
- Cable type and approximate length appear in the schedule
- Line thickness is readable without hiding the plan
